Andrew Lewinter is a Eugene, Oregon attorney focusing on labor law and employment law, and the representation of employees and labor unions. Andrew Lewinter represents employees in a variety of employment, labor, and civil rights claims in Oregon and federal courts, and administrative agencies, such as the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI).

Before coming to Eugene, Oregon, Andrew represented labor unions and individual employees in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Andrew's work with labor unions included private and public sector unions representing public school teachers, musicians, and film technicians. Andrew's work with individual employees involved wage and hour and employment discrimination litigation in state and federal courts and before state administrative agencies.

Andrew Lewinter graduated cum laude from Georgia State University College of Law, where he also served as Lead Articles Editor of the Georgia State Law Review. There, he wrote and had published a law review article about the rights of undocumented workers after the United States Supreme Court's decision in Hoffman Plastic Compounds, Inc. v. NLRB.1 Following law school, he was Counsel for the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) in Washington, D.C., where he helped draft NLRB decisions and guide labor law and policy.

Andrew was a symphony musician for fourteen years prior to becoming an employment attorney and labor attorney. During this time, he actively participated in collective bargaining and representation of employees as chairman of the musicians' representative committee. This experience nurtured a strong belief in unionism and the rights of employees, and eventually inspired him to become a labor and employment attorney.

In addition to his work with labor unions, Andrew represents employee victims of illegal employment discrimination and retaliation, including race discrimination, national origin discrimination, age discrimination, sexual discrimination, sexual orientation discrimination, sexual harassment, disability discrimination, FMLA and OFLA discrimination, whistleblowing claims, and retaliation for having used Workers' Compensation benefits. Andrew helps employees in a variety of civil rights claims, employees who have not been paid the required minimum wage or overtime, employees who have not received the appropriate break or meal times, and employees who have not been paid promptly upon termination. Andrew speaks Spanish, and represents employees who do not speak English.

Andrew is licensed in Oregon and New Mexico, and on inactive status in Maryland. He is admitted to practice in all Oregon courts and the United States District Court for the District of Oregon. He is a member of the Lane County Bar Association, the AFL-CIO Lawyers' Coordinating Committee and the National Employment Lawyers Association. Andrew is also Of Counsel to the Wilson Law Office.
